Mission

TwitchCon Europe is one of the streaming giant’s most anticipated events, bringing together creators and fans to celebrate a year of streaming milestones. For the 2024 opening ceremony, the goal was to create a visually stunning experience that highlighted the achievements of streamers over the past year while reinforcing Twitch’s brand identity. My role was pivotal in this endeavor, as I took charge of editing the main highlight video and overseeing and directing the design and animation of the 3D objects featured throughout the TwitchCon graphics package.

The Call

The opening ceremony marked a celebration of Twitch’s thriving community, with the CEO of Twitch delivering a keynote in front of a massive screen displaying the graphics I directed. This moment needed to reflect the energy, creativity, and diversity of the Twitch ecosystem. Sourcing clips from countless streams to craft the main video was a monumental task, but it was essential to highlight the most impactful moments from the past year.

Process

The process began with a deep dive into Twitch’s content library to source clips that represented a wide range of streamers, genres, and moments. This challenge required meticulous attention to detail to ensure the final edit showcased the best of Twitch’s vibrant community.

Simultaneously, I directed the design and animation of 3D objects that would become a central part of the TwitchCon branding package. Collaborating with a talented team of designers and animators, I ensured that every element adhered to Twitch’s playful yet professional identity. Using Cinema 4D and After Effects, the team crafted bold, fun, and dynamic assets that were seamlessly integrated into all branding materials, from stage visuals to social media content.

Outcome

The final deliverables included the main highlight video, which served as a centerpiece of the opening ceremony, and a suite of 3D animated branding assets that were featured across the event. The highlight video was a seamless blend of streamer clips, narrative structure, and vibrant transitions that celebrated the diversity and creativity of Twitch’s community. The branding assets added energy and vibrancy to the event, enhancing the overall experience for attendees.
