Wiley X, a leader in high-performance protective eyewear, needed a visually compelling product launch promo for the WX Recon, their latest eyewear model. This project wasn’t just about showcasing the product—it was about creating a premium, high-end visual presentation that highlighted the eyewear’s design, durability, and versatility. To achieve this, the promo required photorealistic 3D renders that would elevate the brand and make an impact during the pitch.
Wiley X was preparing to launch the WX Recon, and they needed a polished, high-quality product visualization to present to potential buyers and marketing teams. Instead of relying on standard CAD previews or static images, they wanted a full-motion, photorealistic product video that would make the eyewear feel tangible and premium. Given my experience in working with 3D product rendering and animation, I was tasked with transforming raw CAD data into a sleek, high-end marketing asset.
The project began with Wiley X providing CAD files of the WX Recon. While these files are essential for manufacturing, they often lack the refinement and realism required for marketing materials. To bridge this gap, I rebuilt the model in Cinema 4D, optimizing the geometry and preparing it for high-quality rendering.
Using Redshift, I focused on achieving a photorealistic look, applying carefully crafted shaders for the lenses, frames, and rubberized materials to ensure the eyewear looked authentic and high-end. Subtle imperfections, dynamic reflections, and precise lighting played a crucial role in making the product feel tangible and premium.
To showcase the WX Recon’s versatility, I also designed banner ads and Instagram templates, positioning the eyewear in different environments to highlight its adaptability for various use cases. The final renders weren’t just visually appealing—they told a compelling product story.
The final deliverables included a stunning product launch promo video, fully rendered in photorealistic 3D, alongside a set of banner ads and social media assets. The WX Recon was presented in a way that emphasized its premium build quality, sleek design, and practical applications, giving Wiley X a standout visual presentation for the pitch.
The success of this project secured the pitch win for Wiley X and led to an ongoing working relationship with the brand. The high-end visuals helped Wiley X see the value in photorealistic 3D marketing assets, positioning them as a forward-thinking company with cutting-edge product presentations.
